re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)

I just tried this and quickly realized why I cannot use this work around. All of my content is on a NAS.

I'll wait until Kilrsat gets it updated. I have four movies I've been waiting to add since the day this problem happened.

re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)

Kilstar first of all I have to tell you that one of the reasons I continue using Beyond Media is because of your plugins. If you ever need any donation you should do it, cause it be worth the mount of time and effort you are putting into this.

Now I have a suggestion and maybe you already though of this, I was using for a while Windows Vista and I had to install a DVD Library program as well, it was a lil more complicated than yours but it will obtain every single detail of the movie, but it was using iMDB as a source to grab the DVD information. Instead os using Amazon, can't you use IMDB, anyway that information is also free. IDK

Scott,

Rather than unplugging it from the network, you could always just drop your internet connection for the length of time it takes the movies to be added on. Or you could deny internet access for that particular system, via your router, once again, for the length of time it takes to add the movies.

Just a thought.

I thought of that, but I'm currently doing an ISP longevity test after spending two months with frequent disconnections. I'd rather not watch any new movies than deal with repeating the test. If you're curious, read here: frequent disconnects - dslreports.com

1. Go to Dvd Library (where you look at movie list)
2. Click at the left on Options
3. Click on Library Management
4. Add Movies
5. Scan Options
6. Go down to Scan For New Movies, wait 'till your movie appears

No go, tvmanmarv. I only get the timeout error. No options other than to click on OK. I have the same setup as Scottlinder, with my DVD library on a network share. I have also tried just disabling my internet connection (by disconnecting the cable from my cable modem to my router) with the same results.

I bet the reason is that your network interface is up with cached DNS so it's timing out rather than failing to acquire the network resource. Hopefully Kilrsat will fix this in future builds so we can always add movies regardless of what's going on.

Cheers,
Scott

Should hopefully have the update up tonight. Just going through all the standard tests on it now.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)

Yesterday evening, I was checking for the update and it hadn't been posted yet. I waited 5 mins and hit refresh and there it was. Yay, I can import the dvd's I've been hoarding for the past 2.5 weeks. Works great and it's truly the only reason for keeping BM.
