Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (including GMAIL!)

Well this is awesome! To tell the truth this was going to be the first plug in I tried as it's something I wanted ever since I first saw the 10 ft. interface. Way to save me a bunch of work Mick. There are still a few glitches but I'm sure they can be worked out. Two things would make it a servicable plug. Scrolling of the ail itself and I would absolutely need the ability to save emails on the server (seeing as I don't use a web based email server like gmail and I need to have all my emails in one place). Thanks for doing this and let me know if there is anything I can do to help...

Can you explain further "Scrolling of the ail itself ". As far as I am aware the plugin should never remove an email from the server, is that what you meant!

Its only in its very early stages, so all suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Mick

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (including GMAIL!)

Ooops. Damn I need a spell check bad. "ail" should be mail, as in the message body, which you mention in the first post isn't working yet (any ETA?).

I checked and you are right it IS leaving the mail on the server (I was mislead by too many computers here all checking the same acount). So keep up the good work.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (including GMAIL!)

Sorry I should have worked that out!. The scrolling thing is at the top of the list, just trying to work out how! Some of the Snapstream guys are trying to point me in the right direction so hopefully next week.

Cheers.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (including GMAIL!)

This is a great start. Now, if we can just get SS to include links in their Upcoming Favorites Alerts email we can review the email and schedule the recording

if you have the "plus" upgraded hotmail account yes. Any account with POP access is possible, gmail though is only major player (hotmail/yahoo/gmail) that I know of that offers it for free though.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (including GMAIL!)

PLEASE KEEP up the progress on this Plugin...... It is super critical for most of us. Some questions I need to dig into:

1 - Keeping Email on server (never modify)

2 - Ability to delete email local, then from server also

3 - Ability to delete local, but not touch server

4 - Full HTML View of Email

Stuff like that .... I just need to get cooking on this one as I was traveling and not able.

On the HOTMAIL front, there are several Shim's that will allow you to shim locally hotmail i.e. HotPopper I believe. You then would point the mail app local which looks like a POP3 server but then grabs from Hotmail. I have tried even with my PLUS account but still treats HOTMAIL like hotmail.... OutlookExpress will grab, and Hotmail will grab from other POP's - but not POP client to Hotmail. I could be dated on this - there are plenty of shim's to conquer this.

To me eMail is ther KILLER PLUGIN so I wish the very best in your efforts on it.

Thanks - Chris

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Dec 16 Update)

When I click Install, I get an error -

Quote:
There was an error extracting the plugin. A file that the plugin installer was trying to write to may have been in use. You should close all running programs and try again.
I've shut down BTV and all other running programs - what else could it be?

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Dec 16 Update)

Have you installed other plugins OK. Can you access the
Documents and Settings\all users\application data\snapstream\beyond media\plugins

Area OK

And can you manually create a directory under that

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Dec 16 Update)

Is there any chance that this will support IMAP email in the future?
