Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Jan 31 Update)
At least for me, could not justified spending $30 more on the bundle for Beyond Media. (Although now is only $10 ($59) more of what I paid, darn!!)
Here is why: 1) DVD - I already have WinDVD. By the way, I watch movies on my DVD player, not on my pc. 2) Music Player - I use iTunes and created a great XML Profile. No problems. 3) Photo Viewer - I use Picasa, which is great and I also created a cool profile. 4) Video Player - Windows Media Player does a good job. No need for special profile. 5) Spotlight - Get it with BMB 6) Record TV - I use WinDVR (paid $9 for version 2). Already had it a long time ago. It work perfect with TitanTV.com (EPG). 7) Plug-ins are the only thing I see as a great feature on BM. I wish I could use some of these features. Again, this is just in my case since I already had all these software packages. At $59 (even at $79) the combination of BM and FF is a bairgain. If you have to buy all the apps I just mentioned above plus FF you will spend more than $150. |

I use BM DVD Library Plugin and watch on my TV. I have access to all of my DVDs without leaving my couch. 2) Music Player - I use iTunes and created a great XML Profile. No problems. I use BM 3) Photo Viewer - I use Picasa, which is great and I also created a cool profile. I use BM 4) Video Player - Windows Media Player does a good job. No need for special profile. I use BM and BTV 5) Spotlight - Get it with BMB I use BM 6) Record TV - I use WinDVR (paid $9 for version 2). Already had it a long time ago. It work perfect with TitanTV.com (EPG). I use BTV and record up to six shows at a time 7) Plug-ins are the only thing I see as a great feature on BM. I wish I could use some of these features. The plugins are great, but it is the integration that makes it easy for anyone in my house to use. So far, all of the plugins seem to have the same look/feel/navigation as BM, so they are very easy to start using right out of the box.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Jan 31 Update)
ihave to say, after using Meedio for a long time and hating the buggy crap it is, I switched to BM. Having the stability and ease of use is more important to me then the endless tweaking and usinghte mouse to open programs. While BM ha sless features then Meedio, I am sure that will change in the coming months.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Jan 31 Update)
Ok, so its been quite on the email front recently so I thought I had better let you know that I had not forgotton about this and let you know what is in plan.
1. A more integrated viwer for 'Text' emails. The old HTML browser will still be used for HTML emails. 2. Adding 'Reply' functionality, this is taking a while as it required a way of entering lots of text, but Brett came up with a solution thats looking good, so I can now progress this. 3. Pin protecting 'settings' if the account has a PIN code. 4. Fixing the plugin not always saving emails correctly. Cheers Mick

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Jan 31 Update)
I am trying to use my msn account which is accessed through hotmail. Has anyone had success in doing this or any suggestions? I can't seem to have it retrieve my messages, although my girlfriend's hotmail account works famously. Thanks -

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (Jan 31 Update)
One more very minor thing that I noticed for when you get back to this. If I am currently on the first email in the list, and select delete, it moves the focus to the second email in the list (the second in the list after the delete). It used to move the focus to the first email in the list (which was the second in the list before the delete, and is now first in the list after the delete) Boy - this was hard to explain!!!!
