Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (November 5 Update)
You response caused me to look into the log where I did see it checking without error messages. Sent a few emails and waited 30 minutes tonight and then began to see 'em. Refresh interval set too high and I was impatient. Thanks for the insight. Any idea when creating and/or responding might be added? Otherwise, nice piece of adaptive work. Thanks...

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (November 5 Update)
Thanks, Mick. Once again, an awesome effort.
One more question (here I go again...): is there any plan for adding Yahoo! mail integration as well? I'm currently using YPOPS! for my wife's account but it isn't quite right in the way it handles new emails.

Re: [plugin] POP3/SSL Email (November 5 Update)
Hello,
For those that would like to have this plugin access all kinds of web based mail accounts, I've had success getting to my netscape.net and free hotmail.com mail boxes using "FreePops" -> http://www.freepops.org/en/ Follow the installation instructions for FreePops, which vary based on your antivirus, I'm using Avast! You have to change your email acoount info in the plugin to use "localhost" as the mailserver and port 2000 (i.e. instead of 110) as FreePops does a translation between the ports. The one thing I needed to do manually was go into "email.xml" and edit the "POP3Port" value to be "2000" since Mick's plugin currently only lets you chose the standard ones' (i.e. 110, 143, hotmail. etc.) Maybe there could be an option for keying in you own port number, what do you think Mick? Anyway, once I did that it updated perfectly. FreePops doesn't do SMTP (i.e. send mail) but on their web site are a list of SMTP server names you can try for doing that.

First of all -- this is an amazing plugin. I cant believe one person has put this together in his 'spare' time. Its very nice.
I just installed it about two days ago and did all the setting to have it pick up my gmail. It seems to connect becaused it did pull in about 26 mail messages that I can read, but they are messages from about 3 months ago. I have about 2000 messages in my mail account and none of the most recent onces are showing in the plugin. I upped the refresh rate to every 15min, but still no more messages coming into the plugin. I get about two 'new' messages into the plugin per day, but again its an old message. None of the new messages are coming in. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanx in advance for your comments. |

a. you change the pop3 email setting for not keeping in sync to false. b. logon to gmail and reset the download option You should then find that all the mail is re downloaded and won't be deleted the next time it connects when gmail doesn't offer all the mail again. Cheers Mick

I've used this plugin before on another box and know it works great but am having a problem installing it on this Windows 2000 box with the latest BM trial on it... I tried the current version as well as an older plugin and I get the following when I try to install the plugin:
