Since the sample code is missing from code.snapstream.com after the last restore, its probably your lucky day. I'll try to get something put back there this week, which means it will be the current version.

Generically, no, the plugins aren't open source. I share samples, how tos, and I'll break parts of them out for instruction, but as a whole they aren't available.

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (August 4 Update)

Thanks, this will really help me out with my Apple Trailers plugin since I'm having a difficult time parsing through the QT files and locating the .mov sources

I know its the holiday season, but I am off on vacation and looking forward to your QT code if you can post it. Just want to know how you find MOV files in websites and parse out the files in the wrapper like you do with the trailers part of this plugin.

It's no longer the holiday season but I (and many others) are looking forward to your Apple Trailers plug-in.

For now I prop a laptop on the bed and the wife and I watch those tiny trailers using Firefox. But it'd sure be nice to instead use the FireFly remote and the BTVLink PC like we do with Movie Showtimes.

I'll get to it soon, but it would be easier to figure out the QT stuff if this plugin was completely open source and not just a few screens.

I'm sure. I was just happy and surprised to see the Apple Trailers project was already on somebody's plate. I was going to post a request but snoop'd around first and noticed your sig. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this'd be a great idea.

Maybe I'll fire up VS.NET today and attempt the QT code myself

Are you still having problems with this? The downloads were working for me when you posted but I wanted to wait a week to be sure if it might be related to timing and the theaters I have added compared to you.

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (August 4 Update)

I've noticed if I restart my nas server that holds all my dvd's, DVD library wont play them, it says no dvd found.

Explorer lists the mapped drives as disconnected until I double click on them. After that, DVD library works fine.

Not sure if there is any way to get these drives visible to DVD Library even after a nas reboot without having to physically double click them in explorer. Any ideas?

I still get showtimes and descriptions. But I don't always get the cover art, and html code is now displaying on the screen below descriptions. And a while back the "opening this week" stopped working.

If you know of any other movie plugins I'd love to hear about it. I'll miss this plug in when it stops working completely.

These types of programs need regular updates to correct the parsing of data from the sites they borrow it from. They will always break down evenutally otherwise.

i know, but beyond media was such a good solution... just what i needed a media player frontend... everything i have looked at is a full HTPC program with tv recording and all that... which is too bad, i don;t have a tv card (well not one that anything supports, just an ATI all in wonder)

i just wanted something that does... well just what beyond media does. i grab the shows off bittorrent using and RSSfeed program.. heck half the programs i am watching arent even aried in the country i live it... UK TV is great!

oh well i guess this may motivate me to build a proper HTPC, i just wont be using snapstream software to do it... i never know when it is just going to be abondand!

now if you'll excuse me..it's peanut butter jelly time...
