Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (November 29 Update)

Hi Kilrsat,

I was just wondering if the trailers for Norway would be fixed. It doesn't seem to work at the moment, and this superb feature is greatly missed. Hope you get time to fix it soon. It's Christmas soon and I have been good all year

As an option, it would be great to be able to download trailers from other sites (same as the US). Many of the movies are american, so it would cover like 85% of whats showing.

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (November 29 Update)

A lot to read here, so I'm not sure if this has been suggested. But along with the trailors, and showtimes, how about reviews or ratings of the movie? Not sure what it could check against, but I would find it useful/interesting to see if the movie has a 1/2 star rating or a 4-5 star rating. (Or if it was a rotten tomato, etc).

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (November 29 Update)

Just installed this plugin (just installed BM for the first time for that matter). This thing rocks!

I live in a rural area; as such there is only one close movie theater and just two other that is within an hour away. The minimum selection in the settings seem to be 10. So I'm getting a bunch of theaters that I just don't care about, let alone never heard of. Is there a way to just say, 3 or so? I guess best option would be singlely through 10 then in the normal increments. I'm thinking maybe I can just manually edit the xml file?

Also, being in that rural area, I only have a dialup connection . Is there a way to manually kick off a way to obtain trailers? Currently I wrote a small application that dials up my internet connection late every night and updates the BTV program guide by calling a webpage in webadmin. Since the connection is up, it would be great if I could schedule showtimes to do an update every night during this time.

Thanks again!

I can not check it right now but I remember there being an option to "turn off" individual theaters in the list. I did that to remove local theaters that I never go to.

I just found the option last night. Thanks! A great way to limit the number of theaters; now I have my two.

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (November 29 Update)

Just tried this out. Works great!!
It looks like a theather chain is missing from the list Empire Theathers (Studio) has taken over a couple of theathers in the area and I'm not getting a listing for them.
Everything else works great, trailers etc.

Is there anything you can do about it?

Thanks
Paul

Check out the movie listings over at http://movies.yahoo.com/showtimes/showtimes.html . That is where it looks like this plugin gets its data. You probably won't find it there then either.

Your right. Thats for the link. I've requested the 2 that were missing. Hopefully they will add them.

Re: [plugin] Movie Showtimes (February 11 Update)

Hi Kilrsat.
I really like your plugin, but I need data for Helsinki, Finland. I have 2 sources for the data for the two biggest theater chains here that I am interested in. One of them I am scrapping an html table to get and the other I can get in xml or txt file format. I want to ask if you can externalize your grabbing in some way, or make it an option. If you could specify a file format, for example some xml format, then I could format my data there (as I can code my grabber to output all my data to that file), including links to posters and any trailers, etc. Maybe you could also externalize enough so that when things "break" for other peoples regions, someone could even fix it themselves perhaps, so you don't get an ever growing plugin to maintain data for (more and more regions).

Anyone else noticed a problem with trailer downloads this week? It seems to be hung up on my machine.

This is something I've wanted to do for the longest time, but just haven't had the time to do it.
