Podcasts Through Beyond Media
Today I ran across a website/blog that has a program that allows you to watch/listen to video and audio podcasts from the Beyond Media program. I haven't tried this yet, but it looks pretty interesting. The site also has a video on how it works. Not sure who these guys are, but I'm assuming they might be forum members here???
Heres the blog link: http://binarynotions.blogspot.com/20...-2-jmedia.html Brent

Actually I wasn't a forum member here, but I ran across this forum by searching google. I was actually looking for a program better than the one I wrote. If you have any questions about the program feel free to email me at BinaryNotions@gmail.com. What I would really like would be a program that is better organized (album art, podcast descriptions, etc.), but as of the moment I don't have the time to work on such a project. It is on my to-do list. When I actually do make this program (if I don't find something similar elsewhere) I hope to try to learn the Beyond Media SDK (I wrote my program in Java). If memory serves me correct Beyond Media uses C#. But yea, any questions just give me an email.
Also, if you use my program and would like to donate some money to motivate me for my future efforts you can always donate some money directly from our blog. -Bryan Last edited by anomaly07; 11-22-2006 at 06:40 PM. |

Re: Podcasts Through Beyond Media
Looks interesting. I haven't installed it yet, soIi'm not sure of the features. This sounds like it is just a player and one would have to manually download the podcast files. It would be great if there was a function to collect news stories and assemble them in folders. Something like the unsupported Blog Explorer Plugin, except for podcasts.

Re: Podcasts Through Beyond Media
My program was created to have 1 place for podcasts (with beyond media your audio and video is seperated). You have to install a few other programs with my jar file (mplayer and nircmd), but it will play whatever you throw at it. By using some program like juice or ZENcast organizer you can download podcasts. Just set your top level directory in the config file for my program to wherever your podcast organizer saves the files. If your podcasts are separeted into folders, labels with the folder names will be above the files under that folder. My program is simple, but as I said, I hope to learn the Beyond Media SDK sooner or later and make a really nice podcast organizer. Of course this means I'm gonna have to do some research on XML, but it's something I'm very interested in so that really won't be a problem.
