I have two suggestions.

1. When setting up a recording session, I would like to be able to set the quality level there so I can have different shows record at different quality settings.

2. After a recording session is over it takes a few minutes to show in the shows "Watch" list. I've noticed this delay is caused by the temp file still being precessed. How about instead of waiting for the file to finish processing to display on the list, display it on the list immediatly and use a progress bar to show the status of the file.

thanks for the suggestions -- number 1 is in the works. number 2 is a good idea and our developers have taken a look at it. more on this later...

any other suggestions? anyone?

How about a feature to pause recording? I just found out about this product and haven't really had a chance to test it out to see if it has this feature in it or not but i would guess not. At least i haven't found a pc tv recorder yet that allows for this but it would be nice to pause through commercials.

Im not sure about the viability of this but it would be a nice feature at least it would cut out or cut down the need for editing video afterwards if it could be done.

What I would like to see, although it would be very difficult and prone to error unfortunately, is the ability to have the commercials removed..similiar to the way some VCRs do, by detecting the signal strength.

My biggest reason for this is not that i'm too lazy to edit them afterwards, but rather because there is NO way that I have found to edit an ASF/WME file..wich really stinks.

Unfortunately once it's been recorded in digital format you can't detect using signal strength anymore, so you would have to find another way to detect commercials on post-processing...?

Hmm good point..How about using the fact that the commercials are ususally louder http://discuss.snapstream.com/ubb/smile.gif

How about adding a 'skip' 30 secs or 1min skip. My VCR has this feature, makes searching(bypassing) comercials faster.

I have my PC with BeyondTV on my home network and all it does is record TV shows. I do not pull up the screen very often to see if anything is going on with the PC. The feature I would like to see added to BeyondTV is:

Email notification when BeyondTV has an error.

I recently missed a recording becouse of the above issue (I will address that topic to the Tech Support folks).

A feature I'd like to see is the ability to have alternate hard drives designated to record to. When one fills up it would spill over to alternate 1, 2, etc.
Total amount of recording time remaining would include these. If the first drive has shows deleted and therefore has enough space once again it would resume recording there first or if this is too hard to implement, it could record on whichever drive has the most amount of free space at any given time.
