Decoding premium cable channels

While reading about the ATI-radeon and it's bundled software I saw that it does not allow for decoding of premium cable channels. Does this software allow you to watch and record from HBO, etc.?

hi there-- maybe you can provide more details about the encrypted channels? it's possible that what the radeon doesn't do is provide any way to tune television signal that comes into a cable descrambler box. this kind of a box, like a satellite receiver, tunes things internally -- to tune such a device programmatically, an IR blaster would be required.
