Can you record from a VCR to the Computer using SnapStream and if not do you have any suggestions as what I might use to do this. Thanks

Yes, you can...as long as your tuner has a composite/coax input and your vcr has a composite/coax output...you might also have to purchase a separate cable to hook up your left/right audio channels to your sound card's line-in...

This will work if it was recorded off TV, but if it is a purchased video, it will depend on your video capture card. Most purchased videos have a copy-protection scheme on them which is actually obeyed by at least some video capture cards. I wanted to transfer a bunch of my kids VHS tapes to digital, but my ATI All-In-Woner 128 wouldn't record them. I could view them just fine, but whenever I tried to record, it just froze the picture and only recorded the sound. It wasn't a resolution issue because ALL my self-recorded videos worked at any resolution, and my kids' didn't work at ANY resolution.
