What is the respective folder that I need to place this file in to run it?

Thanks,

Keith...

Anyone have a screen-shot of the BTV menu item in Vista MC using this add-on?

perfect - thanks!

So are you using BTV this way? Any caveats with this method?

I use it on a couple of different Vista machines this way. Not sure about this particular install. I rolled my own based on some other scripts in the forums and on the web.

Basically the transition is a little slow but it works fine.

I ran a blog article on this plugin (http://www.geektonic.com/2008/11/running-beyondtv-inside-of-vista-media.html) and got an interesting question:

Would your Extenders also have this functionaliy - i.e. Streaming Live and Recorded TV from BTV? Or would that be accessed via My Videos like any other MPEG file?

Anyone know if or how this works with the VMC extenders?

I just installed this on Vista MCE 32-bit and get an error when BTV 4.9GM launches. It launches in software render mode and is really slow.

I have been trying to add to my Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I need to know what respective folder for your architecture means.
Thanks

Cancel above question. I got it to work but it is too slow. After exiting BTV, MCE takes forever to respond in my system.
Thanks Anyway

This is great, but how do I get back to MCE after exiting the btv viewscape? Mine just sits there minimized on the taskbar.

any chance of incorporating the ideas from this thread into the addon. So that it resumes MCE after btv closes?

Check out my post here:

This rocks, MC Menu Mender allowed me to fully integrate BTV into VMCE and MCE resumes instantly after I quit BTV.

Everyone, all this does is add BTV or BTV Link to your launcher, it doesn't give you any special streaming or tricks at all. If you read the XML files you'll see all it does is just adds a strip item to run/invoke the GUI for BTV or BTV Link.

It was mainly proof of concept code, if you run Beyond Media and BTV together, this accomplishes the exact same thing that BM does, just is out of MCE instead.

Now I would like to know if there is a way for MCE to recognize the shows you have recorded and organize them similar to how meedio would.

BTV is a better recorder / shrinker
MCE has internet integration - live Sports scores, current movies playing and posters ect...

BTV needs this kind of integration... but I read somewhere they wont ever do it due to some contract.

Change your TV Recording folder settings or Video folder settings in MCE/VMC to your BTV recording folder.
