It's not always about the video cards. I have a VERY good PC (see sig) and I have tried a Nvidia 6600GT and an ATI 1600XT. Neither will give me perfect video like overlay will. Using 3d accel is good mind you, but when a ticker comes on the screen, then I see the twitches. I have given up on 3d accel and am happy with overlay.
Sorry to hijack the thread.

Very nice indeed!
Would be even nicer to see a dedicated 4:3 version! ;)

I was contemplating upgrading my 1300XL to something more powerful to get 3d however you probably just changed my mind.

I second the 4:3 skin. Using biometrics now and this looks better.

I'm having truble obtaining the full effect of the skin on vista. The apha channels don't seem to work and some of the icons seem cropped incorrectly. I realize that I need to enable 3d acceleration, but I can't quite figure out how. The way I perceive it is that 3d acceleration will enable much more appealing visuals, yet I can not figure any way to enable or disable it, or even tell if it's on. I am using a wide screen moniter so that shouldn't be problematic. The skin looks great as is, but the screens look much better. Any help is appreciated.

Settings --> Playback -> Video Renderer
This will get you to 3d accel.
(I still prefer overlay)

I spent allot of time trying to resolve the flickering problem with 3D accelerated mode and was never successful. I always thought my hardware wasn't capable. Earlier this year I upgraded to an Intel core 2 duo 2.4 and Nvidia 7950GT and that did nothing; the flickering was still there. I finally upgraded to Windows VISTA and amazingly the flicker has gone!
The design of this skin takes advantage of the 3daccelerated mode not only with the transparent menus but also with the shape of the time, control and volume bar. When using overlay BTV forces the shape of those three bars to have rounded ends. I don’t know how to change this. If I create a version for overlay mode the bars will have rounded ends.
Very nice indeed!

I will try to get a 4:3 version put together. When I do this would people prefer it to be setup for overlay or 3d accelerated mode? (Overlay will have rounded ends on the time, control and volume bar)

I've actually been using the skin as-is in 4:3 but haven't noticed any real problems (yet).
I use 3D on both my Server and Link boxes.

I noticed that when viewing a list of my shows the "N" icon next to my new shows isn't showing. I copied the files over properly but I'm not seeing the icon next to the shows. Any suggestions or is this a known issue?
BTW, great skin!! =)
EDIT: I'm using it in 4:3 mode. Could the problem be that I'm not using it in widescreen mode?

Too bad Beyond TV doesn't even work in the flagship Vista OS (64-bit). Snapstream, what are you waiting for? You've been able to test for over a year!

How many TV cards have had drivers for the last year in Vista 64bit?
Think before you post, dude.

Oops, just noticed the comment I'm replying to is a month old, so it's probably been figured out, but I'll leave my comment anyway...
I'm using 4:3 mode also, but I definitely have the "N" icon next to my new shows. So it probably isn't that. Do you have the "N" icon in the FSMedia/Images folder in BeyondTV? It is named new_icon2.png. Otherwise, onto smarter people's suggestions..!!!
