I've received a Hauppage 150MCE and Beyond TV. I have a PC with XP home and Dish TV's older model DVR: the PVR508. Besides the cables leading to the TV set, there is an S-Video output I can use to connect to the Hauppage/PC.
I'm unclear about how to set this thing up. I don't even know what sort of cables I need to either
a)Use Beyond/Hauppage as a full DVR
or
b)Manually burn a show that I've recorded on my DISH DVR on to my hard drive? Is it difficult? Other than an S Video cable leading from the DVR to the Hauppage is there anything else I'll need? Do I need an external IR blaster if I just want to record stuff to my PC from my DVR?
Any words of advice much appreciated.
