I hope this might help someone who is thinking about a large home theater setup with a projected image. I'm sure some of you will wonder about where to place the actual equipment so you can control it from your favorite theater seat.
I've found that I can put all my remotely controlled equipment in the back of the theater to one side of the seating. The IR remote works perfectly when you point it at the SCREEN. The screen seems to disburse and bounce the IR signal throughout the room. In my case all my equipment mounted on the back wall of the theater is controlled perfectly by just pointing the remote at the screen. Note .. this works with actual screens that you use for projected video. I doubt it would work if using an LCD or CRT type of screen.
Just thought I'd mention this as you should try this first before you go through all the trouble of putting IR extenders/repeaters etc. or putting all the equipment in a less desirable place thinking it will help the IR remote.
