I am trying to configure BTV to use the s/pdif input on my TB Sound card to use for encoding and playback. Windows sound comes through the s/pdif output into my amp just fine.

Working with an AMD 950 / 512mb Ram
Diamond Stealth S9250PCI256 - ATI Radeon 9250 video card
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150MCE
Turtle Beach Catalina 7.1 Sound card (Via Envy 24/HT-S chipset)

This confiuration works great with analog sound and the analog audio output to the pvr-150, however, I can't seem to switch the input from the pvr-150 to the TB sound card.

Any suggestions?

When using a hardware encoder card such as the pvr150 audio can only be captured by the card's internal audio encoder.

Beyondtv does not have the ability to capture dolby-digital / dts audio on analog channels only standard stereo or mono sound, it can only capture ac3/dd/dts audio on HD channels using a supported HD tuner device.
