It's BTV3DShell.exe that's hogging the CPU. (80-90%)
I've tried using 3D accelerated & Overlay mode, I've tried everything in the Knowledge Base to no avail.

I believe its Link's main program.
I just tested a few scenarios on my Link client (2.4GHz Mobile P4, 512MB RAM) and BTV3DShell.exe reacted:
Connected to a 100Mbps LAN:
Home page - ave CPU=0%
Guide page - ave CPU=5%
Live TV - ave CPU=20%
802.11a wireless:
Home page - ave CPU=0%
Guide page - ave CPU=5%
Live TV - ave CPU=32%
Live TV bumps up wirelessly... and all show some bouncing around in CPU %. The Guide can bounce up to about 30-40% when loading, but then drops.
Try a few different scenarios yourself, and see what happens. Perhaps some adjustments to Anti-Virus software as it pertains to network traffic might help. Finally, if you end task on BTV3DShell.exe Link closes.
