Few questions before upgrading

OK, Currently got 3.7.4 running verywell but fancy checking out the new features of V4, but before I take the plunge just want to make sure that it won't be too painful.

So, first, I'm using a plug-in for a USB device to change channels on my Sky box. Will this plugin still work or will I need to get a newer version?

2nd, I'm using XMLTV for my EPG (using Stephanies Xmi Import app). Does this still work?

Finally, if I do upgrade and want to fall back for some reason, is it possible? - Actually, better yet, can I have 3.7.4 AND 4beta installed and run them seperately?

Yes it works (with version 3.4 of the Importer).

You may have troubles with guide updates. For a curious reason the guide updater object in BTV doesn't work anymore when you downgrade (at least this is what I have experienced). So you better have to backup or use system restore just before upgrading.

You can't have BTV3 and BTV4 installed at the same time.
