QAM Support?

I know from the blogs that QAM has some issues, but is it even a possibility that BTV will (at some point or another, it doesn't need to be this release) support QAM?

My signal strength over QAM is obviously much higher, so it would be a better alternative to OTA channels.

From all indications, BTV will start internal testing support for QAM by January next year, from what I have been told. Betas may appear next summer.

Quadrature amplitude modulation. It is in context HDTV over cable TV. It's basically just a very literal description of the method that information is piped over the transmission line.
