View Full Version : Audio input for cable box

I've raised a bug report about this, but in case I've missed something obvious I thought I'd also ask here. In BTV 4, I don't seem to have an option to change the audio device and audio input for my cable box. The audio stopped working when I upgraded to BTV 4, but only for the cable box and not the antenna source. I set up a new tuner and set the input to Composite, but there seems to be no way to set it to use the Line In on my sound card - it seems to only want to use the built in audio from the card (which only works for the antenna input). Has anybody else noticed this, and is there a way to set the audio input source?

Did you run the setup wizard ? I noticed that when I ran it for my winTVGO, it had a separate test for the audio before it tested the video so maybe they are reconizing the audio differently.

When I ran the Setup Wizard it flashed something up saying something like "Using built in audio from card", and didn't have any audio options.

And you connected the composite and audio into the tuner from the box ?

I have a card with software encoding, the capture card itself doesn't have an audio input. The composite is connected to the capture card and the audio is connected to the Line In on the sound card. This was working in 3.7.2, but stopped working with 4. It works when using the Antenna input on the card.

The issue I raised on the Beta Program site has been closed, and it appears I won't be able to use the Composite input on my card with BTV4.
It seems that it now assumes that cards (at least those with the Philips 7134 chip like mine) that have integrated audio for the TV Tuner also have audio inputs, and does not allow the inputs on the sound card to be used.
