If you are using SnapStream PVS with the AIW Radeon, follow these directions:

AIW Radeon + Windows 2000:
1- Choose "DirectShow" as your Capture Interface
2- Choose your DirectShow Video Device and your DirectShow Audio Device appropriately
3- "Enable" the Enable Preview Pin option
4- Set the Tuning Interface to "DirectShow"

AIW Radeon + Windows 98/ME:
1- Choose "DirectShow" as your Capture Interface
2- Choose your DirectShow Video Device and your DirectShow Audio Device appropriately
3- "Enable" the Enable Preview Pin option
4- Set the Tuning Interface to "ATi Tuners (legacy)"

Let us know if this works for you!

Correction to the above, if you are using the AIW Radeon and Windows ME, set the card up in a manner identical to the AIW Radeon + Windows 2000 (ie set the tuning interface to "Directshow").

Thanks to Leif for sending this one through to us.

Hi Guys,

Well, you guys keep getting me all excited, and then it always fails!

Here is the latest logs from my machine.

[2/22/2001 14:08:39] Record: Executing "SnapStream Diagnostic Test"...
[2/22/2001 14:08:39] Record: sstemp.asf existed and had to be deleted.
[2/22/2001 14:08:40] Video: "ATI Rage Theater Video Capture" is selected.
[2/22/2001 14:08:40] Audio: "SB Live! Wave Device" is selected.
[2/22/2001 14:08:45] ICaptureGraphBuilder2::FindInterface for IAMTVTuner failed.
[2/22/2001 14:08:45] Capture started.
[2/22/2001 14:09:39] Record: Halting capture.
[2/22/2001 14:09:39] Master: PTV has finished recording "SnapStream Diagnostic Test".

I am currently installed with:

Windows 2K Pro + SP1
Direct X 8.0a
ATI AIW 32MB Radeon
Latest Drivers from www.rage3d.com (http://www.rage3d.com)

The test recording DOES complete, but the file has nothing in it, and as you can see from the logs, it is not tuning.

Any insight????

Chris

Works great for me, except the video freeze bug (submitted a clip in the video issues thread).

I'm assuming you have the preview pin enabled and you have the settings for capture and tuning set to directshow.

Could you try to install the non-beta win2k AIW Radeon drivers? (available here: http://support.ati.com/products/pc/radeon/win2k/radeon_win2k_drivers.html) I believe these are the drivers we are using on the win2k+radeon machine in our test lab. (actually -- I just checked, we are using .2195 while .3035 is the latest official release)
