I am running a WinTV dbx on a P-2 350Mhz machine with 128 Megs ram. I am running the latest beta (3c).

The majority of the time, snapstream only records half of the program. I setup the application to record a program at both 8pm and 11pm, and often -- both shows finish after only 30 minutes. (they're last-modified time is 9:10 and 12:10, though -- so it's processing the files at the right time, just not recording the whole raw broadcast).

Last night, I set something to record at 4am-5am and again, it only record 1/2 the show. Obviously, the machine was idle at that point.

What can I do to fix this? Any work-arounds? I'm using precise scheduling: 1 hour 5 minutes length to ensure I get the end of the show. Could this have an effect?

This might have something to do in relation to your other post regarding Netscape 6. The add jobs page does not display properly...make sure you click on both "switch to precise" links next to the duration and time settings. Then edit the precise time and duration...this will then save the correct settings.

I use Netscape 6 and IE5.5 equally. Since NS6 doesn't work with the Snapstream interface, I always use IE to do the scheduling. Last night is a good example. i had it scheduled to record a show at 8-9, 11-12, and 4:30-5am. It's the SAME SHOW, but I just want to be SURE to get it. Anyway, the first two blocks recorded about 30 minutes of the show -- and the 4:30am-5am portion recorded the end of the program.

I was sitting at the PC during the 11-12pm running and saw the CPU spike from 11-~11:30 (and snapstream icon was red), but around half way through the hour, the cpu went to zero, and the icon stayed red. At 12pm, snapstream then did the final processing on the ~30 minute clip. SO, for some reason 1/2 way through the show, snapstream stopped recording the video stream.

Anything you would like me to send or try as a test?
