Hey all,
I have had my firefly for some time - and it has worked great. Recently I moved my setup to a new physical location. I plugged the firefly receiver back into the SAME USB port on my powered hub, and started using the system again.
I'll preface all this with my system specs)
AMD 2600XP
512 mg ram
nvidia 5200
hauppage pvr-250
USB-UIRT (for controlling my sat receiver) -plugged into usb port on computer
wireless keyboard/mouse combo (plugged into powered hub)
firefly remote (receiver plugged into powered hub)
usb powered hub (plugged into PC)
The remote works great after bootup for about an hour or so roughly - at which time the PC continues to work fine, I am in BTV with no issues there, keyboard and mouse work - but the firefly has stopped responding. The light on the firefly receiver is still lit. The only way to get it to stop working is to exit the firefly software, stop the X10NETS service on the PC and then reload the firefly software. When I am at work - this is not a task my wife is comfy with - lol - so it's a huge pain.
I have seen many posts on the topic, so I am not alone obviously - but never a coherent solution response.
Has anyone ever identified what is causing this? Solutions ? Tips? It's not the remote because a restart of the services and software corrects it - so hold back your 'change the batteries' replies :)
ok - thats all for now, I hope someone has some options for me :)
Cheers,
Telemole
