previewing video?

Can I use this software to preview video, or just watch it live from my TV tuner card without recording it?

we don't have live television in the software at the moment -- we've implemented versions of this in-house but it's not quite prime time yet.

Does this reply mean that I cannnot monitor what I am recording as I do with VirtualDub?
I am also a first time user of SnapStream from India where the only way to record is from a Cable channel. I press submit after selecting the channel of cable TV from which I want to record. Let us say I am recording a video music song from MTV which may continue for 4 to 5 minutes. I have three questions: 1) Firstly no window showing the channel program comes up as in any other video capture programs nor is there any panel showing how many minutes of recording has taken place. 2) I am not sure the recording will start instantaneously after pressing "submit". Without a channel program view window, what is the method of stopping the recording exactly when the song is over? Press Escape or Delete or what? There is no panel and no stsrt or stop buttons. 3)How and where will the song be saved? Can I specify the file and location where I want to save it?
