View Full Version : WinTV 2000 Can't record

I, for the life of me, can't get Snapstream to work. Here's is my configuration:

Win 98 SE
Hauppauge WinTV 2000

I've tried various recording setups, but here is the current:

Capture Interface: AVICap
AVICap Video Device: MSVIDEO: Brookstree Bt848 Capture Driver
Tuner Interface: Hauppauge Win TV drivers

The program does seem to record, but when I play the clip back, the playback head doesn't move and there is no audio or video. I'm a stickler for those two things, so I really need a solution.

Thanks. BTW, this is the freeware version.

That's the same problem with the ATI TV Wonder with the WDM drivers and directshow tuning and recording. It records something because the file is 15 MB in length but all I get is a CLICK and the Playback button goes back to the beginning. HUMM... and I thought it was just me.

Ping.

Tech support, can you please help me out with this situation, or should I just give up?

what kind of processor are you running?

install the latest Hauppauge VFW drivers from this location:
ftp://ftp.snapstream.com/drivers/vfw95-98.exe

(I'm assuming that you are using the Hauppauge VFW drivers and not the WDM drivers -- is this correct? If you ARE using the WDM drivers, then you need to change your settings to DirectShow capture and tuning)

sorry for the delayed reply here.

Sorry, you've lost me as a customer. You should really respond sooner than a month.
