firefly control buttons in windows media center dont work

I just bought the firefly remote the other day, and i installed it on my windows media center machine, and when i play music, videos, dvd, or the tv, the play , pause, rec, fwd, rew, prev,and next buttons do not work. but everything else works. any help would be greatly appreciated. :winkwink:

that didnt work, ive tried it before, i dont have windows media center, i have the 2002 sp1 version. so im totaly lost at how to fix this.

I just recently bought a second firely remote to play with MCE 2005 and I'm having the same issues. Some of the keys on the remote work but all of the media related keys don't (ie. play,pause,ff,rewind,etc). I tried overwriting the .xml file with the update but that did nothing. I looked at the MediaCenterEdition-Microsoft-2004.xml file at the keys look correctly mapped but they don't seem to register with the system when they are pressed.

I was wondering how the firefly software knowns which profile to run and when. I would assume they are linked in some file but I haven't come across it yet. Has anyone else come across this issue and found a fix?
