The Beyond Media Basic launches the application and recognizes it as a DVD app but after launching, none of the buttons on the remote functions. When help is pressed, it shows the default global profile, not theatertek's. I have the most recent version of Firefly 1.2 and I can see the theatertek.xml profile but it will not load. Also, I have MyHD as a program but why won't Beyond Media pick it up as a TV app? I am using Theatertek 2.0. Please advise.

All right. It's probably bc theatertek changed their identifier info since version 1.5. Open the appidentifier application that comes with Firefly in the program files menu and put theatertek into focus. Then open the theatertek profile and make sure the informatin is correct. Here's a tutorial on editting profiles:

I wouldn't consider myself advanced but i'll try it. Will the appidentifier give me the necessary information needed to modify the profile? If so, what xml attribute in particular should i pay attention to? I appreciate the help.

The tag at the top:
<Identifier ClassName="TTWndClass" WindowText="Overlay" FileName="" ClassNameComparer="Contains" WindowTextComparer="Contains" FileNameComparer="CaseInsensitiveContains" />
tells what application the profile applies to. You want to change what is inside the quotes next to ClassNamee, WindowText, and FileName to be what appidentifier reads. Be careful to only include information that is not going to change. (For instance, if the name of the current DVD is in the WindowText, do not include that in the profile).
You can do it.

Thank you fellow Houstonian! I didn't even know that snapstream was in Houston until i read the firefly box. You guys rock!!
To theatertek work better just change
<Identifier ClassName="TTWndClass" WindowText="Overlay" FileName="" ClassNameComparer="Contains" WindowTextComparer="Contains" FileNameComparer="CaseInsensitiveContains" />
to
<Identifier ClassName="TTWndClass" WindowText="TheaterTek DVD" FileName="" />
