Is it possible to have a screen that simply lists digital picture folders by name (rather than the big yellow pictures of folders), and start a slideshow when the folder name is selected?

Yes. When you're in the folder view, hit 'o' to bring up the options window and select "change photo browser view". That will give you a list of folder names rather than the icons.

Highlight the folder you want to display, and hit play.

Now, how do I get "Change Photo Browser View" to stay changed? Every time I get back into BM, it is showing me the big yellow folders again.

I haven't tested it, but I think it's supposed to remember your setting automatically. You might want to raise a support request if it's not sticking.
