View Full Version : Using Firefly to Control TV
I would like to use the Firefly remote control to control, through Girder and an USB-UIRT, my TV and audio components. Can anyone point me to any links that would step me through this? Thanks.

There's a lot of information on this forum on girder if you search for it. For instance, I found searching for the terms Girder and UIRT to be valuable.
Hope I'm not stating the obvious,
Aaron
Thanks - I am kind of piecing it together. I just was hopeful that it was all in one place.

this is funny i was just about to post a question about this, have you figured it out?
Nope - I am still looking. I do not have the USB-UIRT yet, but I believe it can learn IR codes. But I am still unsure of the Girder GML construct.

OK - So at first I combined the Firefly SW with Girder and USB-UIRT. Now I have replaced it totally with a Girder implementation. I have made a GML which allows me to control BM, BTV, my cable box, DVD player, VCR and audio receiver all through the Firefly. Through looking at Girder examples I have different control groups in Girder which are activated by Firefly button push and the foreground program recognition. Have just started to add IE and Nero to the fold throug a menu selection. BTW, Girder has some very interesting OSD plug-ins for display and menu creation.
