I'm trying to find a good process to create DVDs from my BeyondTV recordings. I'm recording in BeyondTV, saving as MPG and using TmpGenc DVD Author to create the DVD format for burning. Unfortunately I'm having a synch problem towards the end of a long movie (Lord of the Rings.3 hours). Initially I was setting start and end frames in DVD Author and thought that was causing the problem but now I'm taking the complete MPG file (which has NO synch issues..I've looked) without editing it at all in DVD Author (no chapters, no trimming, no nothing) and have synch issues.

When I load the MPG file to DVD Author, it shows the following properties on the mpg file:

VIDEO: MPEG-2, 352X480 29.97 fps (4:3) NTSC, 4000 kbps

AUDIO: MPEG-1 Audio layer-2, 48000 Hz Stereo, 224 kbps

My initial tests were done without re-encoding audio but I tried re-encoding audio and that didn't work either..still synch issues.

Note: I'm 99% sure this was recorded using following settings (how can I tell what QUALITY was used to record a show ?..showing properties of the show in web admin doesn't show detailed recording info..maybe it does in FSGUI but I'm not at PC now and can't tell)

Audio Frequency: 48000 hz
Audio Bitrate: 224000 bps
Fps: 29.970
Dimensions: Custom... 352 X 480
Video Bitrate: 4000000 bps
bidirectional frames per group: 2
Predictive Frames per Group: 5
Video Noise Reduction filter: ENABLED ...level 15
Motion Precision 15%

hardware Encoder Settings (I'm using a ATI AIW 8500 DV so I don't think these matter..right ?)
MPEG2 Stream Type: DVD Stream
Variable Bitrate NOT enabled

I have 6 days left on my DVD-Author trial and would like to have success before I buy it or it expires. Anyone have any suggestions ?
