Unable to Delete Shows, please help

For the past couple of months, I've been unable to delete recorded shows from the Recorded Show List.

Currently, I have BeyondTV showsqueeze all shows to Windows Media format, this has been working well. However, if I want to delete any show, it goes through the motion as if it allows me to do so, but the programs remain in the recorded show list.

There is one thing I notice that might have some bearing on this, to the far left of each show title is the graphic of a "Lock" next to the title name. I haven't the foggiest idea how this graphic got there or how to remove it. And I wonder if the presence of this graphic indicates that these titles are "locked" and unable to be deleted.

Currently I have to use Windows Explorer to delete recorded shows and this is a pain.

Could someone tell me how I can delete the recorded shows from within BeyondTV, using it's own menuing system? And does anyone know how those graphics of "locks" appeared next to the titles of recorded shows?

Can you still play the show you deleted or does it show up as zero time length in the details. This happens to me all the time if smartchapters is running on the show trying to mark commerials when I delete the show. You can either abort the smartchapter process from the web admin and the show will disapear or it will desappear on its own in a couple hours. Hopefully they fixed this bug in 3.5.

I can replay the shows. Nothing happens to them when I try to delete them, including getting deleted:)

I occasionally have the same problem. I simply go to the "Shows" directory and manually kill them.

Thats different then me then. What I was talking about is more of a gui bug not a real deleting bug.

btw. The lock just means to "keep untill I delete". Moving a file to the dir will set it as well. I think marking it as readonly will set it too. They might be your problem.

Double check your attributes of the folder that you save the files to and make sure that Read-only is not checked or highlighted. I had the same problem as you and the Read-only box was colored green. I clicked it to clear it and everything's been great ever since.

I just ran into this today. I tried to delete a movie I had recorded, but nothing happened. The show was still there, I could play it & everything (it DID, however, remove the smartskip XML file associated with it).

Since that wasn't working, I went into the directory via windows explorer & manually deleted the file. After that, I went back into BTV & the it still showed in the recorded shows list - however I couldn't play it anymore (since the file was gone). Now I have a movie listed that I can't get rid of. Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me while using the system for video editing and DVD burning. If you leave those programs open while launching the BTV Viewscape, then those shows may still be "locked" (which is not the same as the lock icon in BTV) by the other programs. Make sure they aren't still running. SmartSkip and ShowSqueeze might also cause this problem.
