So we had a major channel lineup change here in Sunnyvale CA on 6/2/4, but snapstream.net doesn't know about the changes so the program guide is hopelessly wrong.

How long does it take for snapstream.net to figure out such a major change?

In the meantime is there a workround? I know what the channels should be so how could I manually change the netstream lineup? There doesn't seem to be a way to do that. I can create a manual lineup but I can't find a way to tell BeyondTV to use that.

What I would like is for snapstream.net to bring itself up to date, like NOW since all my recording schedules are now meaningless.

Looking for help from SNAPSTREAM ideally, but it takes days to receive a response via email and that is kinda late for this. Phone calls don't seem to get very far either.

HELP.

My cable company just did the same thing. I waited till the next day, then logged into www.snapstream.net and selected the new linup. When I got home, I went into setup and forced downloaded the new lineup and was done. It was simple.

PS. My channels are exactly right, but that is the cable companies fault (Stinking Charter). They have NEVER published the correct analoge lineup as long as I have been with them.

Hmm, that means I should be patient for a while longer. Thanks for the reassurance though.

Brett,

Yes just got it - many thanks. But up to a week? Ouch!

Curious though, why would it take so long? What are the stages the new information must pass through from the cable company before it reaches snapstream?

Is the fault with the cable company, somewhere else, or just snapstream not looking for changes very frequently?

Since I record some 10+ scheduled programs per day that means potentially I will not be abe to easily capture some 70+ programs.

Again, is there any way I can patch an internal table or parameter file to make my program guide point to the correct channel numbers? The scheduled programs are the same it is just the channel numbers that have been switched around.

You can always just do a manual "timed recording" for those shows you just cannot miss.

Yup for sure I am doing that for most.

I guess channel lineups do not change very often, but it would have been nice to have had this change a tad more immediate. Oh well.

im having issues recording on VH1. Lots of times its supposed to be "show x" and it ends up being something completely different. Snapstream.net is just often wrong. When I go compare to my online guide from the cable company the snapstream is just wrong as to what was sheduled. :-(

It usually doesn't take a week Cris, that is just a buffer because it can take a few days. Snapstream Media is not responsible for the data provided directly, we actually have a third-party provider (infact the same guys do the TiVO data as well).

As for the VH1 issue, what provider are using for the online guide that is correct?

My cable lineup has changed over two weeks ago and BTV still hasn't updated the proper channels. I just checked Titan TV and it is correct.

For reference, my provider is Charter Communications in Rockwall, TX.

The snapstream guide servers will NOT automatically update your lineup on beyondtv if it changes, you must logon to the server then under account settings setup your provider and service tier again. If after doing so the lineup on the ss.net website is still off contact tech support and they can see if they can get the guide provider to update the listing. if the new lineup is correct simply open beyondtv up and tell it to do a channel download under .net settings and it will sync your lineup.

for submitting errors/problems with lineups to tech support please review the following KB article first:

Brett,

OK I understand, thanks. But I'd still like to know the reason for the delay.

I also checked TitanTV and their guide includes my new lineup and the old lineup - they have duplicate entries for those channels that have changed - now that is confusing.

This is now the third day and snapstream.net is still out of date.

This is now the third day and snapstream.net is still out of date.I have occasionally seen this work. Goto setupwizard when it ask if your lineup is correct, select no, reenter your zipcode, and select the lineup again. Does that work? The delay is because the cable provider are slow reporting the changes to the guide people, who are slow at adding the changes.

Brett,

Nope - that made no difference, but I did select another lineup option to see if the software would pick that up and it did that OK - totally wrong selection of course but at least it tested the mechanism. But changing back to my correct zip code and provider simply gave me the old incorrect lineup again.

I notice now that TITANTV has now resolved all its duplicate entries and now reflects the full correct lineup. That tells me the cable provider has done its part OK, at least.

Brett,

OK snapstream.net has now synchronized with the new lineup.
