If any developers are reading this, or if anybody reading this has the ability to contact the developers, I have a couple suggestions for features I would like to see added to the next version of Beyond TV.
(In order of importance)
1. Recorded shows: Using the web interface you can segregate your recorded shows into folders. For example, When I record episodes of Stargate-SG1, I place them in a folder called Stargate. All of the shows I record from Adult Swim get placed in the Anime folder. This makes it easier for me to categorize my recordings and find the show I want to watch over the internet when I am away from the house. I would like to see this added to the local client in the next version. Currently when I am in the Beyond TV local interface and select the recorded shows option I am given a list of every show I have ever recorded (That I still have) in one long scrolling menu. With a nearly full 250GB HDD the list gets quite long. I would like at the least to be able browse by folder from the local interface as I currently do from the web interface. At the most, It would be a neat feature if Beyond TV could automatically categorize recordings into their own folders whether by genre or show name.
2. I use Beyond TV with DirecTV. On my DirecTV receiver's program guide, if the show has not yet aired I can "flag" it so when the show finally airs the receiver will automatically tune to that channel (incase I forget). In the Beyond TV program guide, the watch this show feature only works on programs that are currently running. I would like to see something similar to the DirecTV way.
3. More program guide enhancements: I enjoy using DirecTV as my television service and despise my local cable company (Terrible picture quality and they won't do anything about it.). I frequently watch pay per view movies. The program guide in Beyond TV does not list what is playing on the DirecTV pay per view channels. They only show up listed as pay per view. Currently to record from one of these channels, I have to set up the recording manually via the web interface. I am not sure whose problem this is but I find it to be a minor inconvenience.
4. Is there any chance of getting a record straight to DVD feature?
