View Full Version : Adjusting picture size for TV out
Right now I have my Geforce2 MX400 tv-out hooked up to a stereo modulator connected to a 13in TV for testing. XP recognizes the 2 displays, and I have told it that the device on the tv out port is a generic television. Everything looks great (picture, sound etc) except the picture is too large for the TV. The resolution can't be set lower than 640x480 so I'm not sure what needs to be done.
Is there a way to shrink the picture for the tv out on my card?

you're experiencing an overscan issue. i'm not sure how the mx400 cards handle that. my old ati aiw 128 wouldn't let you adjust the overscan, so for the time i used it, my screen was about 4 or 5 inches smaller diagonal than my tv. my new card, based on the fx5200 chipset allows me to adjust the overscan for the picture coming out.
check around & see if your card (or drivers) will let you adjust the overscan of the tv signal coming out of it.

No worries...the 3.5 beta which should be available shortly has builtin overscan adjustment :).
