Does the Trial Version Actually Work?!

I downloaded BTV 3.4 (trial) yesterday and have tried it - unsuccesfully - with three different TV tuner cards. So far, I've tried:

1. Kworld V-Stream TV-PVR 883 (with included WDM drivers)
2. WinTV Go (PCI)
3. WinTV PVR-250

These last two cards are listed as "compatible" on the SnapStream web site.

In every case, while using the BTV setup wizard, I can get audio just fine, but in the next step, testing the video, it gives me a "cannot start TV graph" (or something like that) error message.

I've managed to get all three cards to work fine with their native PVR software, but BTV has been a dismal failure.

I recently built my computer to the following specs:

3.2 P4 w/800Mhz FSB
nVidia 256 MB Video Card
2 GB RAM
3 - 250 GB SATA drives
WinXP Pro

My computer is VERY clean with very little extra stuff on it, and for everything else but BTV, it's rock-solid.

I've read and reread all the BTV documentation I could find, and still yet it won't work.

Any suggestions (beyond giving up, I mean)?

If you get the error message can you continue to run through the setup. After that can you launch Beyond TV ViewScape (Fullscreen Mode) and see if a picture is there. Sometimes I get this error too and it is nothing because the card still works.

Thanks for the reply, attisb, unfortunately your suggestion yeilds the same type of results - "unable to start live TV..." pops up in the regular BTV GUI.

Oh well, still searching.

without a log indicating why the graph failed it is hard to determine the cause, the graph failed message can come of for a variety of reasons.
