*Added support for Blackbird API-based capture cards.

How significant is this? Does this give us any new options for hardware MPEG-2 encoders? Which cards are Blackbird API-based? Avermedia? ATi eHome Wonder? Does anyone own one of these to test with 3.4.4?

Which cards are Blackbird API-based?

These are cards that pair the Conexant CX23416 Mpeg2 encoder chip with a Conexant CX32880 broadcast decoder.

Some examples are AverMedia M150, Winfast/Leadtek PVR2000.

Unfortunately, eHome isn't one of them, so I continue to wait for 3.5.

Here list of BlackBird base cards
Hauppauge WinTV-PVR Model 28xxx (BlackBird)
Provideo Multimedia PV258T (BlackBird)
Provideo Multimedia PV259T (BlackBird, LowProfile)
AVerMedia M150 AVerTV PVR TV Tuner (BlackBird)
AVerMedia M172 AVerTV PVR TV Tuner (BlackBird)
WinFast PVR2000 (BlackBird)
PixelView PlayTV@P7000 TV Card (BlackBird)
As for ATI eHome Wonder well base on the over design but the chip is know as Theater 200 which over all basely the same Conexant CX23880 Featuring a Stereo audio processor/Video decoder with in one chip but with Overview Features the Theater 200 win's hand down on paper that is but macrovision detection can be a major pain in rear.

By Enzo that should be CX23880

So all these cards will now work with BTV 3.4.4? Should somebody update the supported hardware page?

The release notes for 3.4.4 said:

*Added support for Blackbird API-based capture cards.

Is this not the same as Supported?

I was asking about this the other day and the response was, while all the devices USE the blackbird chip they all use different drivers to interface with the chip, btv interfaces with those drivers, so for EACH card/driver they need to write an interface to the drivers so btv can then intern control the card. currently I think the only ones supported are the one from hauppauge (the go-2 or whatever they called it) and the pixelview play

It seems that the AverMedia m150 card does not work correctly with V3.4.4 of BeyondTV. I have the m150. With V3.4.4, the upper left 1/4 of the video image fills the screen - the other 3/4 is not visible. However, V3.4.3 worked fine with the m150.

Can anyone provide me with the V3.4.3 install - I deleted it when I upgraded. :(

cmasters - did you ever have the above described problem?

What is your secret to get it working?

Just installed the drivers from Aver-media and it worked. No special configuration or anything. Also have not had any of the issues above yet. It does not get used a whole lot yet though so if I see some issues I will post them.
