Re: dont know what section I should go to

great thanks queonda, I just see a lot of warnings about technical questions should be directed to certain places.

So here are my questions. I loaded BeyondTV 4.6.1 and then I went to the web based interface and started selecting programs to record. After a day I noticed none of the shows recorded. Then I noticed when used the ViewScape to check the SnapStream.Net guide there was no info on the channels though I did the set up wizard and the channels were showing on LiveTV.

Eventually I found under SETTINGS/SnapStream.net SETTINGS I find a DOWNLOAD SNAPSTREAM>NET PROGRAM GUIDE DATA. So I did this and found all my recorded shows loaded onto VIEWSCAPE.

QUESTION: shouldn't this downlaod automatically? If I travel to Europe and go online to record a show, do I have to fly back to the US to download the data so my computer will know to record the shows I programed on the web???

Once a show is recorded, I see a lot of extra files that are created. Show title.chapters XML Doc. Do these delete themselve or will I have a bunch of mini files everytime I record a show?

Im a former WinTV/Titan TV user. With this software I was able to connect a VCR and play a tape and it would show on the screen in which I would start recording that feed and convert my VHS tapes to Mpeg. How can I do this with BeyondTV?

Is there a way to skip commercials on the recorded mpeg. Like I record a show and when its done I can burn it on DVD w/o the commercials or do I still have to manually edit the mpeg. that's what I was hoping it would do but Im thinking what you meant by skipping the commercials is playing the footage in Beyond TV and them hitting a button every time you wanna skip past a commercial.

Thanks for your help. ill check the forum and advice or cool tricks for my use are welcomed.

Thanks for your time.
