Just wondering how you are getting the closed captions with HDHR recordings?

Thanks, Z
Hey Zogg thanks and I guess I am double responding to this inquiry, but really there was not much I had to do to get the captions to work. I had already been using the captions with my PVR-250's and Dvico Gold Card. I have BTV and am testing Link. I will go through my link config because it is on the machine I use to surf and read email.

I have attached a screenshot of my playback settings, also in the settings.xml find the following:
<Property><Name>TryCC</Name><Value>1</Value></Property>
By default it should be set to 0. You have to turn off BTV altogether make the change so the value is 1, save the file and restart BTV for the change to take effect.

I had originally taken these settings from Merrypig's enable CC's document which applied to the Hauppauge PVR-250 capture card but I've realized that it's worked for all my media that contains CC infromation.
I have even downloaded .TS clips from the internet and the CC's imbedded in the file show correctly.

It's an older doc and referenced an older version of BTV. Some of the steps in the document are no longer needed, if it's ok with him would be happy to update and post, but I will leave it to him.

I have had inconsistent results with using any decoder other than the Intervideo one, though with the HDHR recorded material have not tried any other, I know alot of people here seem to prefer the cyberlink but for my money the Intervideo does a better job in the CC display.

Let me know how you make out.
