The problem is the price. I can build a rockin' HTPC or desktop for far less than a Mac. And now that Macs are using Intel stuff I really do not see the advantage of the Mac. If it is for basic productivity apps, Linux, Macs and Windows platforms are all about even at this point. Even if you give a slight edge to Macs for Video/Imaging, the costs are not justified.
