Re: underscanning with ATI's Catalyst software?

I upgraded to Catalyst 6.9 and also installed PowerStrip and tried both. I still do not see any underscanning option anywhere. If anyone has tried this with a DVI/HDMI connection using a Radeon I would appreciate it. I looked through both softwares and I just do not see an underscanning option for a digital monitor/TV. When I hook up my CRT TV there is an adjustment feature in the Catalyst software which allows me to change the size and position of the output display. This option is not available on the digital monitor however.

Another question: would all these problems likely just go away if I hooked up my Radeon via Component cables? I know that someone told me the only way to get 1080p on my Sony 1080p is to go component (my Xbox is component and works fine at that res).

I am trying to eliminate as many issues as possible, so if that means going component I will just do that. Any why are the video output requirements from PCs televisions so crappy anyhow? Why does it seem like they are trying their best to make it a pain? Should I just use the DB15 (VGA) plug on the back of my TV instead of component?

Thanks!
