Re: BTV on Direct TV Newbie

I also use a homemade serial cable, got the wiring diagram from the SS website, http://www.snapstream.com/Community/...xternaltuners/ I took the plug from a handset of an old phone to get my rj6 connector. Works like a charm.

I also don't pay extra for local channels since I have a roof mounted antenna, I input my antenna signal into my coax and svideo and audio from directv into my pvr 250. I created two channel lineups, local ota and directv, hiding all unused channels and no overlapping channels, btv's program guide lists them consecutively (as well as my HD channels from that card) and automatically switches from coax to svideo input for hte appropriate channels. Basically I setup two inputs on my pvr-250, one antenna through coax with no external channel changer and one sateite through svideo with serial channel changer. I assigned the correct program guide to each, all is well.
